* What is Radon?
Radon is a radioactive gas that is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. It is formed by the natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water. Radon gas can enter the home in several ways. Openings or cracks in basement walls or floors are the most common avenues.
Why test for Radon?
While radon that escapes into the atmosphere is not harmful, dangerously high concentrations can build up indoors, exposing residents to possible health risks, such as lung cancer. Fortunately a simple test carried out by a qualified technician can determine if radon is a problem in your home, and steps can be taken to mitigate the problem.
